COMMANDER - Robert Marks
As the New Commander of the Maryland Line CSA Camp 1741,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all there help and guidance.
The Year 2002 is going to be a challenge for all of us.
Not only was our country ruthlessly attacked on September 11 2001,
But our Heritage is also ruthlessly attacked on a daily basis.
We have many battle's to fight this year and in the future.
They have tried to take our State Song for several years and because we stood
together in brotherhood, WE WON that FIGHT!
But they will try again.
We must always be on guard as a Band of Brothers to stop these Heritage Violations!
We stood together as brothers and honored our murdered, ancestors at Point Lookout,
and had their beloved banner they fought and died for returned to fly over there graves
so far from home.
They have again taken our sacred Banner from the Monument at Point Lookout!
But this fight we will also win if we stand as a Band of Brothers
We as a Camp must come together as a Band of Brothers as we have many tasks before us.
My Standing Orders to You are:
Try to do something everyday for our heritage and cause. Encourage interested
compatriots to attend the monthly Camp meeting and remind your self to be there.
The Officers of your Camp are always interested in you opinions. Or better yet!
When you have your weekend free and you can find nothing to do just ask.
Your help is always needed.
It IS YOUR CAMP and it is a Proud one with a long history of Dedication to Our Ancestors,
Culture and Heritage!
We have won many battles and with your help it can only grow in to a true Band of Brothers.
